For the golfing enthusiast: Visit nearby Warroad Estates Golf Course, an 18 hole course boasting a fleet of 50 electric carts, golf lessons, pro shop, men’s, women’s and senior league golfing, meticulously maintained greens and fairways, and reasonable fees. But there is no charge for the moose, bear, beaver, waterfowl, and other wildlife are likely to be seen on the links. The clubhouse at Warroad Estates Golf Course has a full-service bar and patio with extended food service featuring homemade soups and salads, short order entrees, and specials.
For the boating enthusiast: Lake of the Woods offers one million acres of water, fourteen thousand islands, and sixty-five thousand miles of shoreline! The Marina, in operation since 1976, is run by Westgate Marine and offers 160 slips for seasonal docking. There are larger slips to accommodate boats up to 40 feet and 30 shore power slips with fresh water service and electric power to allow larger boats to be totally self-contained. A 1500 foot channel provides a safe outlet to the lake and protects the docked boats from wind. Lake access is by boat ramp on the premises. The Warroad Estates Marina also offers new and used boat and motor sales and service, bait, tackle, parts and accessories, snacks, and fuel. For added convenience the Marina can store your boat during the off-season.
For the fishing enthusiast: One of the top sportsman’s paradises in the country, Lake of the Woods offers world class fishing. Fish for trophy walleye and small-mouth bass, muskie, northern pike, sturgeon, and sauger. Fishing guides, fishing launches and charters are offered during the season. In the winter ice fishing packages and ice fishing houses are available in the winter months.
For the snowmobile enthusiast: The best snowmobiling is in January and February. In the Warroad Estates Marina area you can ride 500 miles of newly built and groomed trails through the forests and the frozen lake to bars and restaurants. Many snowmobile races are held this time of year – be sure to check for dates and locations.
For the outdoor enthusiast: For hiking and biking enthusiasts plans are underway for a paved bike and walking path that would connect the Estates area with Taylor Road, north of Marvin Windows. Though trails are as yet unmarked, there’s lots of areas to hike. If cross country skiing is your activity, you will also find miles of unmarked (as yet) trails to ski.
For the hunting enthusiast: Hunt pheasant, ducks, geese, grouse, deer, and bear in the fall in areas nearby. Ask for more specific information when contacting us.
